Roots HR and Energize began working together in 2012 when Energize was in the process of making the transition from being hosted by Shropshire Council to becoming an independent company limited by guarantee with charitable status. Roots HR were asked to provide employment policies and procedures tailored to the new organisation and appropriate to its scale. This led on to advice about the resourcing of the new organisation and in particular, secondments to help the organisation through a transitional period. We were then asked to provide a health and safety review, policy and risk assessments, again tailored to the specific needs of this organisation, which were delivered by our chartered H&S Consultant, Christopher Peck.
After these initial pieces of work and as the organisation began to take form and deliver services away from the Council, Energize entered into a small retainer with Roots HR via our COMPLY service, which has just been renewed as the organisation enters year 2. This provides Energize with access to advice and support on an as-required basis. The organisation benefits from a named contact, chartered HR practitioner and Lead Consultant Louise Beasley, although all of our consultants know our clients and can help if the named contact is out of the office at any time. Any unused time rolls forward to the next and subsequent months so is never lost.
“Energize have recently been involved in an efficiency and effectiveness review by the network which included looking at back office costs. One of the things we were delighted with was that Roots HR are rated as one of the best value services in terms of HR support. This confirms our personal experience with the company and we are really pleased to renew our retainer with Roots for 2014.”

Louise Beasley, Director of Roots HR says,
“Energize are a very good example of a client who might, other than for our services, find it difficult to source HR services that offer both consultants who understand the nature of their business and services appropriate to the relatively small needs of the organisation. We are very pleased to be working with them into 2014 and are delighted with their feedback about our value for money.”
