We also offer a very popular HR documentation review, update and creation service as follows:
Review
We can review up to 3 policies per hour (up to 8 pages of A4 in Arial 12 font or similar) to skim-read and assess fitness for purpose against legal compliance and recognised good practice. Contracts of employment take ½ hour each and an employee handbook usually takes up to 4 hours. The outcome is a report which states, per document, whether it is:
- Fit for purpose
- Fit for purpose with minor updates (which can be addressed within 1 hour)
- Unfit for purpose (because it is not legally compliant and/or the time it would take to update the existing policy will be greater than the time taken to draft a new document).
NB This is a popular and highly cost effective service but the actual updates are not themselves carried out within this service.
Update
Our updating service delivers a “tracked changes” version of your existing policy (or document) and allows for time for one round of discussion/questions arising to be addressed by phone/ email – this can be done following a policy review as set out in 1) above or simply be undertaken because it is known to be needed. In each case, we ask that one named person in the client organisation acts as the internal sponsor for the work and takes responsibility for co-ordinating any questions or feedback for our consultant who has produced the updated document.
Creation
Our document writing service delivers a new policy or document, in your house style if required, either because your organisation has never had one before or because the existing policy is so dated or unfit for purpose that it is easier, and more cost effective, to start afresh. The service allows time for one round of discussion/questions arising after reviewing the draft version, to be addressed by phone/email. In each case, we ask that one named person in the client organisation acts as the internal sponsor for the work and takes responsibility for co-ordinating any questions or feedback for our consultant who has produced the draft document. We operate fixed fees for the production of new documents, costs vary according to the type of document, the extent of tailoring required, and the complexity of the terms and conditions/processes; the final deliverable is a new, fully tailored document, guaranteed for legal compliance at the point of production.
Where more complex documentation work is required (e.g. in harmonisation exercises post-TUPE transfers) and / or more stakeholders are involved, we can provide a quotation upon request.
