HR Consultant
- Salary £30,000 pro rata rising to £33,000 pro rata after probation period
- 24 hours per week plus paid overtime
- Based at our North Worcestershire offices
Roots HR CIC is the first and only social enterprise offering HR consultancy services to civil society organisations. We are looking for a technically competent and experienced senior HR professional to become a member of our team of consultants. Reporting to the CEO, this role will act in a duty consultant capacity, providing HR advice and guidance by phone and email for clients accessing our COMPLY and PERFORM services and prospective new clients.
We envisage that the successful candidate will, along with other essential criteria:
- be a chartered member of the CIPD and/or have a postgraduate employment law or employee relations qualification
- have a minimum of 3 years civil society sector experience or exposure gained through employment, volunteering or a governance role, having gained an understanding of organisational drivers, culture, governance and compliance of civil society organisations
- have a minimum of 5 years senior HR experience and/or extensive experience of advising on complex employee relations issues
- have a working understanding of the difference between employment law minimum compliance and best practice
- have extensive and broad experience of providing robust generalist HR advice and guidance, including advising and coaching senior managers and executives
- have experience of designing and delivering training, adjusting content, language and style to suit a wide range of audiences and skill sets.
- have excellent communication skills and be extremely skilled in influencing at all levels
- have excellent written skills, able to produce high-quality reports and other documentation including policies, procedures, terms and conditions and employee handbooks
- be a quick and experienced user of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook and document and file handling functionality.
The successful candidate will receive training and support in developing within our consultancy competency framework.
