About Us
Why are we called Roots HR?
The name Roots was chosen following a competition we ran to find a name for a social enterprise offering human resources services to the third sector and we chose it because it worked so well on many levels.
The word relates to the part of a plant from which everything else grows - the branches, the leaves, the flowers, none of these can be sustained without firm roots. Third sector organisations are all about people and their contribution and really great HR strategies, practices and processes support and facilitate people to give their best, whatever that might be. And that’s how we view great HR within a business – the roots from which evolve the motivation and development of the workforce and the sustainability of the organisation.
